Last year, they were runner up in the same category, and their Spa Manager was voted the ‘Best’.

These prestigious awards acknowledge and honour the magnificent world-class Spas in South Africa. Recognised by this industry leader, it reflects not only the commitment of Fancourt to exceeding the standard of service excellence but also the dedication of its employees to providing the ultimate guest experience.

A Night At The President

“Food is essential to life; therefore make it good”. And this is something that The President Hotel does exceptionally well. With the recent arrival of Executive Chef Philip Alcock, this SASSI trailblazer brings his diverse experience from his culinary travels across five continents to The President. Having worked alongside culinary giants such as Marco Pierre White and Raymond Blanc, Philip has honed his skills in all areas of the kitchen from harmonising fresh seafood with local spices to Michelin-rated European cuisine.

In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m a BIG foodie and support SASSI (Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative) and the wonderful work they do towards educating and preserving our oceans and its precious resources. So I was thrilled to receive an invitation to a “Farm to Fork” culinary experience. Hubby and I, along with other foodie lovers, were promised a night of robust flavours of sustainably sourced, free range foods paired with fine wines, which feature on their new, inventive tapas and a la carte menus. And they certainly delivered on their promise.

Winter Spa Day Spoils At Steenberg Spa And More!

Think back. Ok, some of you may have to think back more than others. When was the last time you enjoyed some “me” time and treated yourself to a luxurious spa session? Or a relaxing spa day out with your girlfriends? If you’re like me, there is nothing I enjoy more than being pampered and spoilt with a heavenly massage or deluxe facial. I just don’t enjoy them as regularly as I’d like to.

I recently had the opportunity to experience a divine spa pamper session at the fabulous Steenberg Spa, hosted by Travel Chat SA. This stylish and tranquil haven is part of the exquisite boutique twenty-four room Steenberg Hotel. Situated in an idyllic setting on the Cape’s oldest registered farm, this world-class luxury destination is one of nine gorgeous wine estates on the Constantia Wine Route.
