Hi, I’m Nadine and I’m so glad you’re here 🙂

Here’s a little bit more about me and why I created my Travel and Lifestyle blog called Living It Up CT.

I love that I get to call beautiful Cape Town home and after 16+ years in the Mother City, I still get a kick out of being a tourist in my own town. There is so much to see, do, sip, taste and experience in this amazing city!

My international travel career has taken me to 22 countries on 4 continents. Since my first overseas trip to London and Paris in my early twenties, I have eternal wanderlust and could quite easily hop on a plane/ship/train/car right now and just go! Road trips and weekend getaways around the Western Cape and South Africa feed that wanderlust when international travel isn’t always an option. I adore staying in luxurious hotels and boutique guesthouses, but have been known to ‘glamp’ on occasion.

My other great loves are food (especially sushi and seafood), wine, bubbly and more recently, craft gin. Where better to indulge in these than in and around Cape Town and the surrounding winelands! This vibrant city is a foodie lover’s playground and we are so fortunate to have scenic wine estates with award-winning wines and gastronomic delights within easy driving distance.

My crazy family and cats mean the world to me, but don’t tell them I call them crazy!

I’m a proud supporter of sustainability, responsible tourism, recycling and helping to preserve and protect our incredible Earth for future generations. The beach is my happy place and I can spend hours listening to the sound of the ocean and swimming in the waves when the water isn’t that freezing. Forest and mountain hikes are favourites too.

My mobile is always on hand to capture life’s funny and breathtaking moments.

All of this has inspired me to create a personal blog to share my travel, food and wine adventures with you. So join me as I explore this one-of-a-kind city and beyond.

There is a South African saying that says “local is lekker” (cool) and South Africa is definitely cool!
