De Hoop Collection’s Weekend Yoga Retreat with Marianne.

Treat yourself to a weekend of pure Yoga bliss at De Hoop Collection’s Weekend Yoga Retreat from 6 to 9 November 2020 with Marianne Wiid.

De Hoop Collection and Marianne invite you to an enriching yoga retreat experience in the beautiful tranquil setting of the De Hoop Nature Reserve. The blend of fresh air, nature walks and restorative yoga will recharge and revitalise your energy and unify your body, mind, and spirit.

De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Overberg region, world-renowned as one the best spots for shore-based whale watching, is a short three hour’s drive from Cape Town. Here, in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa, you will be blissfully isolated from the rest of the world and you will unwind, de-stress, heal and rejuvenate.

“Never stop being curious”, says Marianne, a qualified Iyengar Yoga teacher with 20 years of practice on the mat. She satisfies her curious spirit by doing yoga all over the world and immersing herself in local cultures and cuisines. For her, yoga is a continuous journey of humble learnings and delightful surprises and one which allows her to compassionately guide her students towards fulfilling a vision of a joyous and peaceful life.  She approaches life holistically and combines her passion for Yoga and the ‘bringing of joy to others’ in all aspects of her life.  She believes that life should be lived to its fullest, filled with gratitude and compassion. Marianne is also a qualified reflexologist, a wine connoisseur and an avid traveller.

In keeping with protocols regarding the Coronavirus, De Hoop Collection adheres to all stringent health and safety cleaning protocols – the safety of their guests and staff being of the highest priority.

De Hoop Collection – the first private/public partnership in the South African hospitality industry – opened in the De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Western Cape in 2007.  The Reserve in the Overberg region, a short three hour’s drive from Cape Town along the world-renowned Garden and Whale routes, is the perfect holiday destination for families, couples, groups, honeymooners and wedding parties, family reunions and birthday weekends and an ideal stop-over en route from the Cape Winelands to Plettenberg Bay. De Hoop Collection offers a wide range of accommodation designed to suit all budgets. The staple of De Hoop’s dining scene The Fig Tree Restaurant has been reinvented and has relocated to a new space, The Shed; and there is a new Wine Cellar – in a silo. De Hoop, a World Heritage site offers world-class whale-watching and is paradise for bird enthusiasts with its more than 260 species of birds including the endangered Cape Vultures. As a colony of almost 200 vultures roost and nest in the Potberg Mountains, exciting Vulture hikes and viewing opportunities are offered; other activities include interpretive marine walks, hiking and mountain biking trails, eco boat cruises on the vlei and Nature drives, tennis or boules. De Hoop – a nature lover’s paradise of unparalleled peace and tranquillity in what may be one of the Cape’s last unspoiled gems.
