Local Travel Is Lekker – Guest blogger feature on Tulips & Phoenixes

Gaynor is a South African Travel & Lifestyle blogger that enjoys going on local road trips and getaways within South Africa and showcasing all that this beautiful country has to offer.

She recently started a travel blogger interview series on her blog – Tulips and Phoenixes – called Local Travel Is Lekker (Lekker is a South African slang word for cool). With this fantastic interview series, she hopes to encourage S.A. citizens to explore more of their own country. And guess what? She asked to feature me as a Guest blogger. Yay me! 😉

If you’ve ever visited South Africa, you’ll know that the Rainbow Nation pretty much has it all. Yes, we have our fair share of issues as do many countries. Don’t worry; I’m not going to go all political on you. But we also have wide open spaces, beautiful indigenous fauna and flora, magnificent mountains, lush forests, stunning beaches and oceans, amazing wildlife, a diverse culture, world-famous attractions and miles and miles of open roads where you can embark on a road trip of epic proportions.

Exploring new places and spaces is something I love to do too. There’s almost nothing I enjoy more than taking a road trip to somewhere I’ve never been while stopping along the way to discover a new place or something exciting. And take loads of photos. And I mean loads! Just ask my hubby. Living in the Western Cape, we’re very fortunate as there are many quaint villages and towns within easy driving distance, perfect for a quick day trip or long weekend getaway. Since I began my own Travel and Lifestyle blog in September 2016, it’s given me great pleasure to share my travel stories with others.

I was thrilled that Gaynor asked to feature me as a Guest blogger that inspires South Africans to travel locally and explore our exquisite country. It was great fun and brought back some fond childhood memories too.
